The Giving Challenge is a 24-hour online giving event that takes place from April 15-16, 2026 from noon to noon, that connects hundreds of nonprofits with donors across Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties. Hosted by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, the event has raised more than $92 million for local organizations working to strengthen our community.
During the Challenge, eligible donations are matched—doubling the impact of your gift and helping organizations like Big Waters Land Trust protect the land and water that sustain our region.
Make your gift go three times farther during our Giving Challenge!
Thanks to the generosity of The Patterson Foundation and Elizabeth Moore, a Big Waters Land Trust board member, every donation up to $100 will be matched 3x to protect land and water for the benefit of people and nature. Elizabeth’s pledge is for the first $10,000 given during the Giving Challenge, so make your donation early!
Your $100 = $300 to protect our land and water!
Be The One for Big Waters Land Trust
Our Land. Our Future.
The land and water that define our region are more than beautiful places — they are the foundation of a healthy, resilient community.
At Big Waters Land Trust, we work every day to protect the landscapes that sustain wildlife, safeguard clean water, and connect people to nature. From conserving vital habitats to stewarding protected lands for future generations, every acre we protect helps shape the Florida we leave behind.
But conservation is only possible because of people like you.
Your support helps us:
- Protect critical natural lands
- Restore wildlife habitat
- Safeguard water quality
- Strengthen climate resilience
- Inspire the next generation of conservation stewards
Together, we can ensure these natural places remain wild, thriving, and protected for generations to come.
Your gift today helps protect the places that protect us.
Donate now and be part of the future of conservation.
