Dawn Lansing is a Development Officer at Big Waters. She is an experienced fundraiser and grants coordinator with a passion for nature, a strong desire to make an impact, and a dedication to protecting the special places left in Southwest Florida. Her personal and professional lives have been shaped by the deep need to commune with nature and share its wonders with anyone willing to listen! Dawn is part of a dynamic team charged with securing the fundraising revenue required to accomplish Big Waters’ vital mission.
She has a diverse background spanning the not-for-profit, corporate, and entrepreneurial worlds and has cultivated a variety of professional and social skills as a result. Most recently, she cut her “development teeth” under the tutelage of Mrs. Janet K. Ginn, a Certified Fundraising Executive and 40-year veteran of philanthropic development.
Dawn is a lifelong learner and truly loves getting to know people and learning their stories. She volunteers with Hope for Communities and loves to sing for seniors in care facilities during the holiday season with her Gulf Gate church. Dawn and her husband Doug are on a mission to explore as many new biking trails, hiking trails, kayaking opportunities, and Gulf Coast beaches as they can now that their four children have fledged the nest. Dawn loves eating, singing, laughing, making people laugh, reading, dancing, listening to almost any live music, being near, on, or in the water, and being a Gramma to her two elementary-aged grandchildren, Kinley and Jaxon.
