Connie joined Big Waters in February 2021. In her role as the Director of Community Engagement, her responsibilities include overseeing special event management, community education, and relationship development with the community, donors, and volunteers. Connie lived in Hawaii for 15 years where she was truly able to appreciate and connect with nature. She graduated from the University of Hawaii Manoa with her degree in Biology with an emphasis in Marine Biology and Conservation Biology and a certificate in Marine Mammal Education. Connie’s experience ranges from Hammerhead Shark research to Humpback Whale education to all things non-profit. In her downtime Connie enjoys kayaking, being in nature, reading, and painting.
