Resilient Retreat
Serving the community as a private trauma center, this land provides opportunities for people to experience with the healing power of nature.
The Story
Operating as a private center, Resilient Retreat provides access for groups of trauma survivors who benefit greatly from the natural setting. The permanent conservation easement eliminates the threat of subdivision of the land and helps protect the rural character of northeastern Sarasota County.
Why it Matters
Given the property’s prior use as an equestrian center, this land is a mix of rural and natural areas, including approximately 52 acres of improved pasture and 32 acres of woodlands and wetlands. The property provides habitat for grassland birds and wading birds with mature oaks trees that support imperiled orchids and air plants. Onsite activities connect people to the healing power of nature and facilitate deeper connections to the great outdoors.
