OSPREY, FL (July 9, 2026) – Big Waters Land Trust is delighted to announce the addition of Joel Johnson to their Board of Trustees. An accredited land trust, Big Waters’ mission is to protect land and water for the benefit of people and nature. Johnson joins trustees Daniel Vigne, Chair; David Crawford, Vice-Chair; Joseph Lieberman, Secretary; Patrick Pedonti, Treasurer; Mario Bernardis; Robert W. Brown; James Caldwell; Patrick Carlton; Carol Carter; Michael Knupp; Elizabeth Moore; and Eileen Scudder-Zimmermann in guiding the not-for-profit’s urgent work.
Johnson has been involved with Big Waters since 2023 and is Director of Planning and Head of Signature Services at FourThought Private Wealth. Raising his young family in the Sarasota area, Johnson feels a deep personal connection to the region’s natural spaces and a strong commitment to preserving them for future generations.
“Raising our young family in the Sarasota area, my wife Bri and I feel a deep responsibility to protect the natural places where our two-year-old is growing up,” said Johnson. “Spending time together on the water, exploring the coast, and fishing our local waterways is what reminds me why this work matters and why I want to do my part to preserve it for their future.”
Johnson is honored to join the Board of Trustees and looks forward to bringing his knowledge and expertise to support Big Waters’ mission to protect the land and water for the benefit of people and nature.
