Join Sarasota County and a variety of community partners to celebrate National Public Lands Day (NPLD) and Take A Child Outside (TACO) week (Sept. 24-30). Enjoy a morning of volunteering, connecting with nature, and family-focused fun for families and individuals of all ages.

National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the largest single-day volunteer event to improve and enhance America’s public lands. Registration is required for volunteer service projects. Take A Child Outside (TACO) week was created to connect children with nature and provide opportunities for children to explore, adventure, and have fun outside! Nature Exploration Stations will be provided by UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County educators and other community partner organizations, including Big Waters Land Trust! Our Community and Youth Education Managers will be on-site running the Intro to Kayaking station! Other activities will include guided nature walks, animal ambassadors, and a variety of hands-on nature-based activities.

Registration is required for volunteer projects, but feel free to drop in anytime from 8:30 am to noon to visit any of our activity stations.

Families of all ages are welcome!
