Join us for an exciting and educational journey into the world of Florida’s owls! This program will introduce participants to the fascinating lives of these nocturnal birds, exploring their unique adaptations, habitats, and roles in the ecosystem. After learning about the different species of owls native to Florida, participants will engage in a hands-on owl pellet dissection. This activity offers a glimpse into an owl’s diet, allowing students to identify the bones and remains of prey species, deepening their understanding of food chains and ecological balance. Students will work in pairs with one owl pellet for each pair.
This program is suitable for children ages 6 to 12 years old and their families; however, all are welcome! A parent or guardian is required to stay on-site to assist and supervise their child(ren) for the duration of the program.
