Conservation Foundation accepting submissions for Community Art Show at Bay Preserve

Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast invites local artists of all ages and experience levels to enter their original work in Conservation Foundation’s inaugural Community Art Show. With a focus on paintings and drawings, this juried art exhibit will showcase local natural lands through the eyes of the community at large. Submissions must be Florida-centric and showcase nature.
“We are thrilled to introduce this new community event,” comments Christine P. Johnson, president of Conservation Foundation. “For years we have partnered with professional artists to promote the protection of natural resources through exhibits and receptions at our Bay Preserve Headquarters. Now, we’re inviting the community to share their work too!”

Contest categories are divided by age and include a youth category for artists 12 and under, a teen category for artists 13-17, and an adult category for artists 18+. A jury will determine which pieces make it into the final exhibit. Jurors include fine artist and naturalist, Jean Blackburn; fine artist, Mary Louise O’Connell; and artist and founder of Litore Studio, Lindsey Simonds.

Each artist may submit up to two pieces for jury consideration. Submissions will be accepted April 1-30 and must be received no later than midnight on April 30. Jurors will review all submissions and select which works will be included in the inaugural exhibit to be displayed at Bay Preserve from June through August 2024. The opening reception will take place on Wednesday, June 5, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Registration is required.
