We are a dedicated team of professionals with a passion for working hard to save natural lands, forever. Founded in 2003, Big Waters has protected more than 20,000 acres across 77 properties. That’s over 31 square miles of natural lands protecting our waterways, providing critical habitat for animals and plant survival, and giving us natural space to explore, experience, and enjoy.
Our powerful team of a dozen is agile and strategic, working together to grow our conservation community and develop creative solutions to saving the most important natural lands across five counties – Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier.

Internship
Conservation Lands Stewardship
Big Waters Land Trust provides students with hands-on experience in managing and restoring protected natural areas across Southwest Florida. Interns work alongside land stewardship professionals to support habitat restoration, monitor conservation lands, manage invasive species, and engage with the public through volunteer events and outreach activities. This paid internship offers valuable field experience for students pursuing careers in environmental science, ecology, natural resource management, and related fields while contributing to the protection of Florida’s unique landscapes and wildlife.
