OSPREY, FL – September 25, 2025 Big Waters Land Trust is delighted to host artist Lauren Marshall and her latest exhibit, The Keystone Connection. Featuring a collection of her recent works, The Keystone Connection highlights close relationships between the wildlife and beauty of the Gulf Coast. The exhibit opening reception takes place at Big Waters’ Bay Preserve headquarters on Wednesday, October 8, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Florida-based fine artist inspired by the joy, color, and wild beauty of the coast, Lauren began her creative career working with brands like Pottery Barn, Martha Stewart, and Williams Sonoma in Silicon Valley before returning to Florida to focus full-time on her art. She now paints daily in her treehouse studio, fueled by sunshine, salt air, and her two little boys. Through The Keystone Connection, she hopes to share that same sense of wonder and the connection she feels between all living things on this beautiful coast. From true keystones like mangroves, gopher tortoises, and oysters, to comeback stories like the roseate spoonbill, these species and many more are celebrated in this collection.
Lauren studied the masters’ painting techniques in Paris and Rome, creating master copies inside the Louvre, before graduating from Ringling College of Art + Design. She worked in the creative industry with brands such as Pottery Barn, Martha Stewart, Williams Sonoma, as well as many tech companies while living in Silicon Valley. Her work is part of private and corporate collections such as the St. Regis Longboat Key and the National Boat Owners Association, and has been accepted into shows at The Dali Museum of St. Petersburg’s Impressionism Exhibit, the Art Center Sarasota, Sarasota & Longboat Key Boutiques, and is a 2024 MLB Tampa Rays Featured Artist. She was featured on the 2025 cover of Bradenton Magazine in honor of Women’s History Month, and the spring 2025 issue of Where Women Create Magazine.
Registration for the opening reception is required. For more information and to RSVP, visit bigwaterslandtrust.org/laurenmarshall. Light refreshments will be served, and the artist will be onsite to answer questions about her work. Artwork and stationery items will be available for sale, with Lauren generously donating a percentage of the proceeds to Big Waters Land Trust.
Following the reception, the exhibit will be on display October 10 through January 12, and may be viewed Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Call Big Waters Land Trust office at 941-918-2100 with questions, holiday hours, and to schedule an appointment.
